Excellent dashcam (N5S) providing 4 views of coverage that is easy to use
The Vantrue N5S is an excellent dash cam that provides 4 points of coverage: 1) in front of the car, 2) behind the car, 3) view of interior from the front windshield, and 4) view of the interior from the rear window. This is definitely a must for people looking for that added level of security for their car or for the added evidence for insurance purposes. I am glad I got this for my car for the ease of use, easily able to access the media and save to your phone or device and the added security of having 4 points of view.Contents: It includes all the necessary items for installing the dash cam.- Front and rear cameras with an extra mounting sticker- Cables to connect the cameras- Charging cable that connects to the cigarette lighter outlet and a short USB-A to USB-C cable- Window films that are used to sitck on your car windows and them affix the camera to them. This helps to easily remove or even adjust placement of the cameras. (plus microfiber cloth and alcohol wipes)- 6 cable clips to help with cable management on the window (if needed)- Small plastic pry bar to help remove panels. I found this helpful, but I have a larger one that i found is more effective.Set up: It may seem challenging, but it is relatively easy. I installed this on a Kia EV6 in which I wired the cables through the trunk panel and hidden within the ceiling liner. You will need the pry bar to hep with this. Alternatively you can use the cable clips to hold the cable on the windows and then hide the cable along the top or bottom of the door frames. Warning, be careful if you snake the cable on top of the door frame to not get in the way of the air bags. It is safer to snake along the bottom of the door frame, but takes more effort. In all I had over 2 feet of excess cable, so it is definitely long enough for probably any car/SUV. Their is a picture desciption for correctly attaching the rear camera to the window.Using the dashcam: First off, you will need to use a SD micro card that has at least the recommended V3 rating. I had an older V1 card and kept getting “slow card” message on the dash cam. Once I put in a V3 card, no more errors.- The dash cam is great and records excellent quality videos and photos in both day and night. Both outside and inside videos look great.- Locking videos – simply puch the orage button on the left side of the dascam.- Sensitivity/locking videos – I find the dashcam a bit sensitivty in its attempt to sense the car is in an accident. It triggers whether I hit a pot hole or bump in the road. But there does not appear to be any consistency for when this happens. While it is better to be safe than sorry (any lose the video if it gets recorded over), you will end up having a lot of locked down media that I would suggest you will need to delete periodically. I have no doubt that if ever I’m in an accident (knock on wood) that the dashcam will lock that video down.- Changing views on monitor are easily cycled by pushing the left button on the bottom of the dashcam.Vantrue app: The app really helps simplify your experience with the dashcam. The app connects to the camera via wifi and enables you to view any camera view live. It also allows you to download any videos or snapsots to your device. This is so much better than having to pull out your SD card and put into your computer to download media.

Nice upgrade with 4-camera full coverage, clear images with crisp night vision.
The Vantrue N5S four-camera dash cam is a nice upgrade to the N4 dash cam that I have used for two years. I would recommend the N5S if you want the latest addition of a rear cabin camera. All four cameras have Starvis 2 sensors that provide great detail in low light conditions. If you don’t want to use them all, you can pick which cameras will record. The front camera has night vision with 2.7K wide dynamic range and the rear camera has 2.5K HDR. The front and rear interior cabin cameras use infrared lighting at night.Installation and setup was easy with the included mounting supplies, adhesive and cords. The most difficult part is running the cord to the rear camera under the headliner and avoiding side air bags. I’ve used the N5S for two weeks and here are some highlights:CAMERAS: The N5S has four cameras that can record simultaneously at 30fps and 1944P front + 1080P front cabin + 1080P rear cabin + 1440p rear. One obvious benefit for the rear cabin is for kids or rideshare services. Initially, the front camera was brighter than I liked, but was easy to adjust in the settings for exposure. The front camera has an ultra-wide field of view with minimal distortion that is great for capturing cars coming from the side. License plate numbers are readable at 30 feet or more. The rear camera is small with an ultra-wide lens that captures 165 degrees. Both interior cabin cameras cover door-to-door views and are crisp at night due to infrared LEDs. The microphone picks up clear conversations at almost any volume. The mic can be turned on/off as desired.APP & WiFi: Download the free Vantrue app to your smartphone for full functionality. It makes set up and viewing functions much easier than using the LED display on the main camera itself. With an optional LTE module, you can also remotely monitor your cameras via 5GHz, receive notifications, remember parking location, speak through the camera, and access 2GB of cloud storage. For general use, the 5GHz transmission is super fast and the app is well-designed with an easy interface.MEMORY & STORAGE: The N5S accepts a micro SD card up to 1TB. This is several months of storage for me. With loop recording, the camera will automatically write over the oldest recordings when it runs out of space.INSTALLATION: The N5S front unit is about 10% bigger than the N4. The larger body accommodates a wider LED screen than the N4. It can be mounted to either the left or right side of the windshield near your rear view mirror. The mount itself attaches directly to the windshield and houses the GPS unit. The front camera body attaches magnetically to the mount. This makes it easy to remove for viewing, to change settings, or to hide in the glovebox when parked for an extended period. The rear camera unit is small and has two rotating cameras. It should be placed low on the rear window for optimal view rather than high. Also, be sure to mount it so the larger cabin camera is facing inside. Then adjust both up or down. All cleaning supplies, mounting adhesive, cable clips, and cables are included in the box. You may need more clips or tape to conceal the cables inside your pillar or headliner.Parking Mode: There is a 10s buffered motion detector and collision option available for parking with the hardwire kit.

Great idea, outstanding features, but…
Two major problems. There are no anti-glare polarization lens to get rid of the glass reflections.Cannot be used in California. Black body under windshield causing overheating under direct sunlight. Camera rebooting as a result and cannot be considered a trustworthy device.Do not recommend. You and your money deserve betterChanging rating down to 1 star after I spent about 20 minutes trying to connect to the camera through the app. It is really nice to see a “connecting” status. Nice to see it after 10 attempts to connect. Camera Wifi does work, it is really 5G, but app is unable to connect. Killing app is useless.Between one and zero stars

A great addition to the family!
This is my first purchase of a dash cam front and rear inside camera! As such, I am happy that I finally made the decision to do so and that the Vantrue N5S 4 Channel 360 Degree WiFi Dash Cam, STARVIS 2, IR Night Vision, 2.7k+1080P*21440P Front and Rear Inside Dashcam, 24/7 Buffered Parking Mode, WiFi, Voice Control, Dual GPS camera was my first choice! I just got this camera earlier this week, but I must say that I am so pleased that I made this decision! The first night after installing it in my car, my daughter was hit by a hit and run driver. The other driver veered into her lane coming from the opposite direction! Because the system has 4 camera’s it, it recorded action from the front of the car, the rear of the car, and the inside of my car from the driver’s point of view and passenger’s point of view. The video accurately captured what happened as well as the license plate and other pertinent details about the other car! I was able to share the video via the Vantrue on my phone to the police, clearly indicating fault of the other vehicle. As a result of the video, the police were able to track down and charge the other driver. The camera has a “collision” mode that is activated under specific circumstances, such as a bump from another vehicle. I really love everything about the camera, including the functions of the four buttons located on the bottom of the system and high-quality video and still images it produces. It provides crystal-clear video quality and comprehensive 360-degree coverage, to include incredible detail in low light conditions. Installation wasn’t that difficult and its performance during active driving was quite impressive. I think the camera is worth every bit of its price! My only Con so far is that the Parking mode doesn’t work in my car without the use of the Vantrue 11.5ft USB-C Hardware Kit. Once the car is powered down, the camera ceases to work until the car is powered on again. Other than that, it’s a great camera so far! I’ll be fitting each of my cars with one of these in the very near future.

Here I go again with another great camera system from Vantrue!
I have been a Vantrue dash cam customer for a number of years now. It seems like every time I get a new truck I end up wanting a new and better camera to go with it.My latest camera from Vantrue, the N5S 4 channel model, is amazing. It covers the front outside, front inside, rear outside, and rear inside, all with two very nice cameras. I have not yet decided if I want to hardwire it, but I am strongly considering doing so, since it also offers 24/7 parking mode and will record any activity around my truck as long as it has a power source.Installation was extremely easy and took all of about ten minutes to complete. It really gives me peace of mind knowing that if I am ever involved in an accident, or have any issues while on the road, I am covered and have evidence. It records constantly and simply overwrites the oldest footage once the SD card fills up, so I never have to worry about running out of storage space. I also like how easy it is to switch camera views to show all of them, some of them, or one specific camera I want to be displayed on the generous screen included with the front camera. The recording quality is superb, crystal clear, and the night vision is the best I have experienced to date.I do not do rideshare driving, but if I did, I would feel crazy not having a setup like this. With these cameras, a rideshare operator would be covered from every angle, both inside and outside of their vehicle.I am very happy with my purchase and I know from past experience with Vantrue that I will be using this camera for a very long time.

Overall is great, just the sticker need to be better.
Overall, this dash cam was very easy to install. It automatically turns on every time I start my car, which makes it very convenient and worry-free. The image quality is very clear, and it records automatically in the background without any issues.I mainly bought this camera for safety in case of an accident. Fortunately, I haven’t needed to use it for that situation yet, but it gives me peace of mind knowing it’s always recording. The only downside is the adhesive for the rear camera. After about four months of use, the sticker lost its grip and fell off, so I had to purchase my own adhesive to remount it. It’s not perfect, but it does what it’s supposed to do and performs well overall.

I saw this and decided to give it a try!Have been using it for few weeks. I can say that I am very pleased with the quality. Not only in the product but also in the quality in the images, video, and audio.Installation was simple. My own mistake and didn’t use the cable that came with it. Had the used past equipment that didn’t support 4 channels, only 3. For those who have previous equipment already, the equipment that came with the cam will need to be utilized. Specifically the long cable that links the front and rear cameras.A simple switched of the cables everything works without a problem. The app is great! Very user friendly. But if you use a VPN that will need to be turned off during use. With the app you can: view all data collected, can view save crop the first 30 sec. And so on or save to your device and do anything. One note with the 4 channels it is more data and will use space on the as card. So if there is an event you’d like to capture, get on the app sooner than later, other wise it will get recorded over.I haven’t quite figured out the pix Plate feature yet but i have faith it will do just fine. In my area this time of year, there is a fair amount of my driving is early in the morning or evening. I have to say the quality of images, video is great. I’m no videographer but for the purposes of this device ( extra insurance, if you will) is a great tool.So many settings, do your research, reading and set it up how you like. I have mine in collision mode, which will turn off after about 5 minutes and detect collision, you can have it set on motion but in what I found will stay on Depending on the sensitivity you set it to. Also on this note I have found that depending on the sensitivity it will record anything that stimulates the sensor. For example, hitting a pot hole use of your horn or simply getting into your vehicle. Not all that often but if you are to slam doors could trip the sensor. Not sure if there is a way to mitigate that. But for the intended purpose of this unit I don’t find this minor difficulty a big problem. All the hardware works great! you must use the electrostatic stickers to install the camera mounts. otherwise if you don’t and say you have to replace your windshield will be a bit harder to remove. I say this as I didn’t on my last one and had to use a razor blade to remove. Also if you are installing the rear camera on a back window with a rear defroster cut down the electrostatic sticker.Hope this helps. I will update in time with any other areas i may have missed as i have only had it in use for a few weeks.I could go on, but if you’ve been want to, give it a try!The customer support is good. A slight delay as they are but will respond as stated on their website/app.

A Subtle, High-Coverage Dash Cam That Just Works…. Now With 360° Playback
The media could not be loaded.
I wasn’t sure if I needed a full-on 4-camera system but the N5S has really changed my mind. Installation was… easy enough. It took maybe 25–30 minutes total: mount the front camera on the windshield, run the back-camera cable to the rear glass, plug into power (or better yet, hard-wire if you go that route), and tuck the wiring neatly along the trim.Once installed, the camera powers on with the car ignition … no fuss, no button-pushing. And once you drive, the system records all around you. The N5S isn’t just “front & back.” You get full 360° coverage: front exterior, rear exterior, and two interior views (front-cabin and rear-cabin).Video quality is excellent for what it is. The front lens records in up to 2592 × 1944 (2.7 K) @ 30 fps, and the other cameras record 1440p-to-1080p @ 30 fps. The use of Sony Starvis 2 sensors across all four cameras means even interior shots … important if you’re carrying passengers, kids, or pets… come out clearly, and night / low-light performance is solid thanks to IR night vision + HDR/WDR support.Accessing footage is straightforward. The system includes Wi-Fi (5 GHz), GPS metadata, voice control, and supports up to 1 TB microSD. You can transfer files via the companion app, or plug the card directly into your computer. Playback and review are intuitive… date/time and speed are stamped automatically, which helps if you ever need footage for an insurance claim or incident.Parking mode (motion detection or impact-triggered) is an especially welcome feature if you park on the street or in busy lots overnight though full parking-surveillance requires the optional hardwire kit. What I Like Most:Very complete coverage — exterior + interior + front + rear. Great for everyday driving and rideshares / family use.Superb low-light performance thanks to Starvis 2 + IR + HDR/WDR. Nighttime license plates, pedestrians, interior detail — all reasonably visible.Built-in GPS, voice control, automatic “on with ignition” recording, and good app integration make it “set and forget.”Small Quirks / What to Know:It’s a more substantial setup than a simple single-lens cam… routing the rear cable and mounting two units takes more effort than plugging in a basic front dash cam.The box doesn’t include a microSD card or the hardwire kit … you’ll want to purchase a 512 GB–1 TB card separately. I happen to have one from previous. If you rely on the parking mode, you really should hardwire it; otherwise parking surveillance won’t happen. With 4 cameras constantly recording, storage fills up — so a large card is pretty much mandatory if you don’t frequently offload footage.Bottom Line: If you want more than “just the road ahead,” and you value full-car coverage… inside and out… the Vantrue N5S is a worthy upgrade over a basic dash cam. For everyday driving, rideshare, or safeguarding a car that sees lots of action, this camera system feels like it was built for someone who wants complete peace of mind.

GREAT CAMERAS THAT PICKUP EVERYTHING
Super dash cameras and I have purchased 3 of this specific model and have purchased several other models of Vantrue also. Great cameras and I used a main camera in the front windshield and a main camera in the back window and I might wire the secondary cameras on the back non-opening small side windows on a GR86. My son printed some extra pieces for the OEM camera mounts to make it easier. Vantrue could do some more engineering on those camera mounts to make them compatible on ANY angled windshield. LOVE THESE CAMERAS AND THEY PICK UP EVERYTHING

Complete 360 Protection and Incredible Night Vision
The Vantrue N5S is exactly what I needed for total peace of mind on the road. Having 4 cameras (front, rear, and dual cabin) means absolutely zero blind spots. The video quality is crystal clear across the board, but the real standout is the STARVIS 2 night vision—license plates are actually readable in the dark without harsh glare, and the cabin infrared works perfectly even in pitch black. The 5GHz WiFi makes pulling videos straight to my phone super fast, and the hands-free voice commands are incredibly responsive. I highly recommend picking up a 1TB SD card to take full advantage of the 4-channel recording, and definitely get the hardwire kit if you want the 24/7 parking mode. Perfect for rideshare drivers, road-trippers, or anyone wanting top-tier vehicle security!
